Really like Nexus but 2000 euros (now in sale) is extremely expensive.
It's on sale again. Bought the whole she bang like 6 years ago there's a 100 new expansions I dont have. Might have to get it again.

I make quite a bit of stuff using mostly Nexus, and while the sounds are inspiring you have to take off a lot of the reverb to fit them in a mix... and once you do that they don't sound that inspiring. but at least it gave you the idea so it is useful.
The other thing I'm not too pleased with is how each expansion contains dozens of sounds that sound exactly like sounds from another expansion... so I'm pretty sure they recycle the same or very similar sounds over and over.
Once you have a few expansions you realise there's little point buying too many more unless there in a very specific genre.... like the orchestral expansions.
The Hollywood packs are quite a cost effective way to start scoring for film and tv. They don't give you much fine control, but they can give you that big Hollywood sound in a short amount of time.
I was going to buy this Synthwave expansion as its a genre I enjoy, but after listening to the presets here I decided against it as, once again, I'm pretty sure I already have most of those sounds or something very close to them.
So, thank you... you just saved me €60 :)
If I was to recommend one Nexus expansion, it would be the guitars expansion. A lot of synths try to emulate the sound of one type of guitar, but the Nexus Guitars expansion gives you access to everything from grunge to classical in one place. Not all of them are successful, but they're mostly pretty good and in a mix you can pass most of them off as the real thing with care.
I remade the Ghostbusters theme a couple of weeks back using the Guitars expansion almost exclusively... and it came off pretty well I think.
